DeGods: The Lost Angels

(A proposal for Frank and the DeDao)

Dear Frank,

I know you’ve been thinking about ways to incorporate female themes into the DeGod/DeadGod ecosystem and I want to help. I’ve been doing some drawing and I think I have a female that captures the feeling of the DeGods. Here’s what she looks like…

She’s a work in progress but I think there is big potential here. Obviously, the DeGod artists are amazing, and it’s kind of a dick move for me to elbow my way into your ranks. Apologies. I’ve been an artist and designer my entire life so hopefully you recognize my skill. If you like my art, I’m your’s.

Beyond the art, what should we name the female DeGods? I know people have described a theoretical female DeGods collection as “DeGoddesses.” Personally, I am not a fan of that name. I mean just look how ugly that word is with all those D’s and S’s. Gross. Second, why can’t women be God’s too? Finally, DeGoddesses seem kinda predictable. The DeGod way is to destroy expectations and blow minds. So let’s do that.

I humbly submit the name “LadyGods” for your consideration. It has a few things going for it. Say it out loud and you hear it has “DeGod” in it. And starting with “LA” gives us another element. You’re from L.A. right? For our purposes that could stand for “Lost Angels.” Given the death/ascension themes of DeadGods, the idea of angels could spark some exciting lore to play with. What do you think?

Branding would be critical, so here are some logo mockups to help visualize what something like this could look like:

How would a LadyGod project work? I’ve been thinking about this, too, and I can see a couple options. Let me lay them out for you…

Option 1: A stand alone collection

Perhaps the LadyGods should be their own collection. It could be a small, exclusive collection of 3,333 angels. But what if it was a massive collection of 20,000? Similar to Trash Pandas, this could be a way to extend our community to as many people as possible.

I suppose it could be an airdrop like DAA eggs, but I don’t think people value free stuff because they don’t have any skin in the game. I like the idea of a low mint price (or minted with dust?) that gives anyone the ability to join the DeGods now that the average human has been priced out of our market. I don’t know, you are the marketing brain, so I would be curious which direction you would go.

If the Lost Angels were a sister collection of DeGods, perhaps they could launch with clean(ish) art that later can be sacrificed with Dust just like the DeadGods. What if they started as normal degenerate women who you had to transcend before they became angels? Perhaps angels could be staked for Dust? Hmmmm…

Option 2: An entangled female variation of existing DeGods

The downside of a stand alone collection is that it could dilute the market, decreasing the value of DeGods. If that is a concern, what if we entangled the LadyGod art with the existing DeGod NFTs? For another 1,000 Dust, DeGod holders could unlock their female version. The attributes could stay the same, the art would just have to be reworked a bit when it doesn’t line up with the Angel. Here’s a rough proof of concept of how an Angel looks using existing DeadGod attributes:

(Example reusing existing DeGod attributes)

Thanks, Frank. If you like these ideas I would love to collaborate with you and help build the DeGods lore. Thanks for considering my proposal. I guess I didn’t mention how I would be compensated if this idea caught fire. Not worried, you have proven that you reward people who give to the DeGod community. Keep leading us, I appreciate everything you are doing, brother.

Sincerely,
